The Prime seasonal guide · DFW

A little planning.
A more comfortable winter.

From the first cool morning to the next cold front, make a plan for your heat, your air and the rooms you live in.

Your home. Your next step.

What would feel better?

Choose the concern on your mind. We’ll point you toward a useful place to start.

Keep a working system ready.

Heat working normally? Plan a seasonal maintenance visit before you need it every day.

Tell us whether you have a furnace or heat pump and how many systems serve your home. Ask which checks are included, then keep the service report with your home records.

Make the season feel simple

A plan that moves with you.

  1. 01

    Before colder weather

Locate your system details and last service report. Plan maintenance for equipment that is working normally.

    Build a maintenance plan
  2. 02

    When heating season starts

Notice which rooms feel different and how the system behaves. Share recurring problems when you arrange service.

    Open the heating checklist
  3. 03

    As winter settles in

Keep service records, follow your filter instructions and revisit comfort concerns that have not been resolved.

    Review filter fit and care

If a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds or you suspect a gas leak, leave the home and call emergency services from a safe location. A routine service request is not an emergency response.

Thinking beyond this season?

Explore heat pumps.
Understand dual fuel.

Compare a heat pump with an air handler, or a dual-fuel match with a coil and gas furnace. A home assessment helps determine the equipment and controls that fit.

  • Matched-system efficiency on qualifying matched S-Series systems.
  • Confirm available equipment and your home’s heating needs.
  • Confirm the full installed scope and price in writing.

Before you request service

Questions for the cooler months.

Should I book a tune-up if my heater is not working?

No. Tell Prime that the heater is not working so the team can arrange a diagnostic visit. A seasonal tune-up is for a working system; repair work is quoted separately.

Can insulation help with a cold room?

It may help when inadequate insulation is part of the problem. Air leaks, ductwork, airflow and equipment can also affect room temperatures. Have the conditions reviewed before choosing the work.

Does the savings calculator estimate winter heating bills?

No. Prime’s cooling savings calculator compares estimated cooling costs using the inputs you select. It does not estimate furnace fuel use, heat-pump winter performance or a guaranteed household bill reduction.

Should I replace a furnace, choose a heat pump or consider dual fuel?

Start with your existing equipment, fuel supply, comfort needs and a home-specific assessment. Dual fuel combines a heat pump with a compatible coil and gas furnace. Compare the full installed scope, equipment match, controls and written price.

Does sending a request reserve an appointment?

A request lets Prime review your needs and contact you about the next step. Your appointment is confirmed only by the scheduling team or office. Call our team to check current availability.

What should I share if last winter's heating problem returns?

Tell Prime which system and rooms are affected, what the thermostat shows, when the problem returns and what has changed since the earlier visit. Include the previous visit or invoice reference if you have it. A recurring loss of heat or shutdown is a fault to describe when requesting a diagnostic, rather than routine maintenance for a working system. The office confirms the appropriate next step and availability.
